    Family, and friends?

Family & friends. Paid leads aren’t worth much. Insurance selling is HARD. That’s why most people wash out.

Rather than working leads, he needs to get out of the office, and start walking up and down streets, passing out his card. He’ll have better luck that way.

THE BEST THING TO DO IS ASK AROUND YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD AS WELL AS AT WORK.

Alright, I know a couple of insurance agents and this is what they tell me has been the most successful for them:

    1. Get out and meet people in the neighborhood. This is vital in establishing the salesman’s credibility (In other words, it puts a face with the salesman).

    2. Get out and volunteer for organizations such as The Chamber of Commerce and other service clubs. This will generate business and personal leads for the agent.

    3. Use networks of family and friends to generate leads.

    4. Ask for a former agents book of business, which might help him get a start

    5. Talk to realtors, CPA’s, and lawyers in the area about new and existing clients

    6. DO NOT use lead generators (such as Iquote, etc.). These leads are usually extremely cold and not worth the money.

I trust the insurance agent who gave me this advice and I think that it will help your brother get a start. Two other pieces of advise are to being willing to hand out a card anywhere and be willing to get out of your comfort zone. I hope this helps you.
