what should i do about my life right now?

Right now my life is the shittiest it has ever been. so im just looking for some advice from other in what to do about everything. ive seen many therapists my whole life and i have some other people i can talk to about all my problems but im just looking for a little more.

So its all started a little more then 2 months ago when i got searched in school and they found pot on me and since it was in individual baggies they thought i was trying to sell it. as a result of that and the upcoming court case i have i checked myself into a youth rehab. this was very had for me to do because i have a girlfriend that ive been seeing for 7 months now and i love very much. the rehab was a 28 day program and i was there for 50. i thought me being there would allow me to come back to the school. which at one point they were going to allow me back in after completion of the program. but now they are not. the school is now requiring me to go to a long term program or an alternative school in order for me to come back. im open to the alternative school but i will not go to a long term program which would be anywhere from 1-2 years. the main reason is because of my girlfriend who i am madly in love with.
which is another issue im having. on one the days i was suppose to be discharged from the rehab. they got a drug test come back which showed that i smoked so they kept me for 5 more days. i was later released because it turns out the lab messed up the drug test. but in those 5 days my girlfriend got drunk and cheated on me with a friend of ours. when i got out of rehab i did a partial program where i only went for the day and she cheated on me again during one of those days. when i found out about this i was mad but i knew that i needed to talk to her about it and try to understand why it happened. we talked for hours and she only did it because she was lonely and drunk, she missed me and the first time she thought i cared about the drugs more then i cared about her. she promised never to do it again and she begged for me to forgive her. i said i would forgive her as long as she promised to not see him for a few months and promise me it never would happen again and if it did happen again she would know now that it meant the end of our relationship. she agreed to all of this and things have been going better. but the problem is that she has seen him a few times since we agreed to this. i don’t think anything has happened tho sexually because every time they were together my best friend was with them and my friend promised me nothing happened but she lied to me cause she said that she wouldn’t see him anymore. and what lead me to write this today is because after a huge argument with my parents (which ill talk about next) i was driving to my dads house and i saw my girlfriend and the guy she cheated on with in his car driving the opposite way. so i called her and asked her what she was doing and everything. and she assured me that nothing was going on she was just bored and didn’t have anyone else to hang out with and she would come to my house as soon as she could. so when she came to my house we talked about all this and i didn’t want to make it into a big deal so i just asked if we could forget about it and move past it, and she agreed to. bare in mind that my girlfriend has bipolar disorder and might also be a sociopath.

the other issue is my mom. she’s my legal guardian but we have a horrible relationship. since my parents got divorced she started verbally abusing me at a young age. which lead me to develop depression and lead into 2 suicide attempts and me cutting myself. i have been seeing therapists about this issue for 8 years but when ever we talk to my mom she refuses to see how she has done anything wrong. and refuses to change in order to better your relationship. when i was smoking weed the depression would go away but now that i’m sober i’ve been feeling that depression coming back and its so much worse then it was before. i haven’t had any suicidal thoughts or actions but i feel the worst i have ever felt in my life. i keep asking if i can live with my dad but shes making it as hard as possible for me. even thought i know it would be best for me. my dad is the only person i can talk to about things comfortably and i know that living with my mom is not helping my sobriety.

so what do i do about all this. My girlfriend. My parents. The school. My depression.
ok just so some people know. i want to go to the alternative school but my mom just wants to send me away, so i have on choice. second im not going back to drugs, i have 60 days sober tomorrow. third i know my girlfriend cares for me. she has emotional problems and acts on impulse, and i want to see my therapist more but she doesnt think she can help me any more and i dont know who else to. Third please, please do not tell me to accept god. i respect your views and im glad that accepting god works for u. but i dont see how god is real. also please dont turn this into a thing to prove that god is real or try to convert me or anything

GEOEYE BEGINS SELLING IMAGERY FROM ITS NEWEST SATELLITE

WASHINGTON — GeoEye has begun selling imagery from its newest and most capable satellite to non-U.S. government customers following an extended test and checkout period during which the spacecraft experienced pointing problems due to a software glitch, according to a Feb. 5 press release issued by the Dulles, Va.-based company.

Sales of GeoEye-1 satellite imagery have yet to begin to GeoEye’s biggest and most important customer, the U.S. National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA), but company officials expect that to happen over the next few weeks, the press release said.

GeoEye-1 was launched Sept. 6, 2008, and is touted by the company as the world’s highest-resolution commercial imaging satellite, capable of distinguishing ground objects as small as 0.41 meters across. The NGA financed $237 million of the satellite’s $502 million in construction and launch costs under a program called NextView, which also funded a similar satellite built by GeoEye competitor DigitalGlobe of Longmont, Colo.

GeoEye originally expected its satellite to become operational around 45 days after launch, but on-orbit testing revealed a problem with the software interface between the satellite and its star tracker system, which allows it to properly orient itself in space. The problem affected GeoEye’s ability to precisely determine the ground location of GeoEye-1 imagery. The software glitch, coupled with programmatic and launch schedule issues that delayed GeoEye-1’s launch by a year and a half, resulted in a down year for GeoEye, which through the first nine months of 2008 had a 23.6 percent decrease in revenue compared to the same period in 2007, according to filings with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

GeoEye currently derives most of its revenue from sales of imagery from its aging Ikonos satellite, launched in 1999, which is less capable than GeoEye-1.

In the press release, GeoEye Chief Operating Officer William Schuster said GeoEye-1 was built to “extremely exacting requirements” that proved difficult to meet during the satellite’s test phase. “Additional improvements can still be made, but we have succeeded in attaining our performance objectives,” he said.

The company has thus begun selling GeoEye-1 imagery to government customers in Europe, Asia and the Middle East as well as commercial users. GeoEye is submitting the latest GeoEye-1 imagery to the NGA for certification, which is expected to take a couple of weeks, company spokesman Mark Brender said in an interview.

Once GeoEye-1 imagery is certified for use by the NGA, which procures commercial imagery on behalf of U.S. military and intelligence community users, GeoEye will begin receiving payments of $12.5 million per month for one year under a contract modification signed with the NGA in December 2008. After that contract expires, the company and the NGA will have to negotiate a new contract if sales are to continue, Brender said.

Meanwhile, GeoEye is pressing ahead with plans for its third-generation imaging satellite, GeoEye-2, which will be similar to its predecessor but have some increased tasking capabilities and better ground resolution, Brender said.

The company has ordered $28 million worth of long-lead components for the GeoEye-2 sensor from ITT Space Systems of Rochester, N.Y., which built GeoEye-1’s imaging camera, Brender said. GeoEye has not said whether the GeoEye-2 satellite platform will be procured from General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems of Gilbert, Ariz., which built GeoEye-1. GeoEye anticipates launching the satellite as early as 2012.

The U.S. government has yet to make clear whether it will underwrite construction of additional commercial imaging satellites as it did under the NextView program. Pentagon plans last year to build up to two commercial-class imaging satellites to be operated by the U.S. National Reconnaissance Office and serve military and intelligence users were squashed by Congress. The Pentagon has not yet revealed the details of its budget request for 2010.

Why don’t people care about the American Car Industry?

Everywhere I look, I keep hearing people talk about how the government should just let Ford, GM, and Chrysler die. My question is why would anyone ever wish for that to happen?

I’m a big fan of Capitalism, I adhere strongly to the belief that companies should be held accountable, however, in the situation of GM, Ford, and Chrysler, I honestly think the government needs to step in. The government needs to protect itself from foreign influences and it needs to protect its key core businesses from international takeover.

We all know that the Japanese government helps out its car industry like Toyota, Nissan, Mitsubishi, they have very good government backing therefore they are very strong. For instance, you would never see a foreign company being allowed to buyout Toyota Motor Company even if that hypothetical company could afford it, why? Because the Japanese government would never allow it, just like France would never allow Boeing to buyout Airbus.

This lead to an unfair marketplace for the American Auto Industry. Now, had our government stepped in and supported our Auto Industry, I think the industry as a whole would look so much different today. Unfortunately it didn’t and GM, Ford, and Chrysler were forced to focus on SUV’s because that’s what sold during the 90’s, and unlike Toyota, GM, Ford, and Chrysler, did not have the deep pockets to fully support next-gen passenger car program as well as a money-making SUV program. And as you know, money is necessary to maintain future operations, so GM was forced to devote most of its resources to making the cars people wanted to drive at the time.

Had the Big 3 had government support/aid during the 90’s perhaps we would have gotten a vehicle like the 2008 Malibu and CTS much earlier. However, if GM had decided to focus it’s attention on the cars that it needed rather than the cars that people wanted, it would have quickly gone bankrupt.

And right now as we speak rumors of bankruptcy are heard throughout the market place, as well as rumors of the end of the Big 3.

This would be one of the worst things to happen to the American Economy during a good economic period. If it happens now in our current economic state, it will be disastrous.

GM directly employes what, about 200,000+ (maybe less since all the recent layoffs) and I know Ford and Chrysler employ quite a few workers as well, but let’s focus on GM.

So if GM dies, that’s 200,000 for the unemployment office. However, that number doesn’t include those that will become jobless as the result of the domino effect a GM bankruptcy will have on other companies.

GM has the most dealerships with it’s many different brands, if these were all to suddenly close, we can add more people to the unemployment line. In addition to dealerships, many part manufacturers have GM as a primary customer ( think American Axle, Allison, Eaton, Delphi, Bose, AC Delco, etc), then there are those companies that contract with GM for vehicle delivery,etc. And as a result of this sudden unemployment, forclosure rates could go up at an unprecedented rate as those no unemployed can no longer afford to stay in their houses.

A GM bankruptcy wouldn’t just affect GM workers and GM Fans, it would affect the jobs of a lot of people around the country. If you thought our current unemployment rate was high, a GM bankruptcy would make todays numbers look small.

In fact, a GM bankruptcy wouldn’t just affect American workers, but workers in Canada, Britain, China, India, all places where GM has factories.

People blame GM and other companies for building factories in other countries and bringing those cars here, well, who can blame them? With UAW fighting for $25+per hour wages for High School educated people, I’d move my factory to a place where I can pay the people what they truly deserve to be payed rather than what some labor union tells them that they are entitled to be payed.

The government really needs to step back and take a look at the bigger picture regarding the Big 3. A decision regarding a “bailout” of the Big 3 will either make the presidency of whoever wins in November, not to mention it may make or break the future of our country as an economic/world power.

Perhaps the old say really is true, “What’s good for General Motors, is good for America”.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Leading U.S. senators reached an agreement on Thursday on an immigration overhaul that would fortify U.S. borders and grant lawful status to millions of illegal immigrants, a move that could lead to a major legislative victory for President George W. Bush.

The agreement sets the stage for what is expected to be a passionate Senate debate over the proposal, which would give an estimated 12 million illegal immigrants legal status, create a temporary worker program and establish a new merit-based system for future immigrants.

“The agreement we’ve just reached is the best possible chance we will have in years to secure our borders, bring millions of people out of the shadows and into the sunshine of America,” said Sen. Edward Kennedy, a Massachusetts Democrat who helped lead the bipartisan talks that included Sen. Jon Kyl and administration officials.

The Awful Truth about Annuity and Insurance Leads

You see the websites, you see the ads: exclusive, never before sold, prospects eager to buy, insurance and annuity Leads. Some leads cost a few dollars – others are over one-hundred a pop.

I was curious, just how good are these insurance and annuity leads? I decided to find out.

I’m not going to name specific insurance and annuity lead websites, but I will give you a summary of how it all shook out.

Insurance and Annuity Lead Website A:

Cost: Cheap

Results: Terrible. 10% of the leads my staff called got number no longer in service recordings. The rest: the people had no idea what we were talking about. They were not interested in annuities, insurance or investments, nor did they remember filling out a request for information form on the internet.

Sales: 0

Insurance and Annuity Lead Website B:

Cost: Average

Results: Terrible. Prospects didn’t recall filling out request for information on anything related to annuities, insurance or financial planning. Most just hung-up.

Sales: 0

Insurance and Annuity Leads Website C:

Cost: Expensive

Results: About twenty percent remembered filling out a request for info. However, they had been called numerous times by different agents. Most were getting sick and tired of the calls. A few had begun working with other agents. Most hung-up angrily.

Sales: 0

I spent two-thousand dollars on this experiment. I did not find one-receptive buyer. I had thrown away my money, not to mention time spent by my phoning staff to contact these “hot prospects”.

What the heck was going on? How could these websites sell such garbage?

I poked around, wrote a few e-mails to ‘industry experts’, not surprisingly, nobody got back to me. Luckily, I did end up making contact with a marketing person who had previously worked for a big lead selling outfit. She gave me the juicy details of how the majority of these lead companies operate, whether it is insurance leads, long-term care leads, annuity leads, or MLM/Work-from-Home leads. They all employ the same methods.

Method #1: You send cute E-card to your mother wishing her a happy birthday. You fill out name, e-mail and click send. Your name and e-mail are captured. If the site is a lead harvester masquerading as an e-card site, you will now be e-mailed by people looking to sell you annuities, business opportunity offers, etc.

Method #2: Leads site buys huge database, often just regional phone book listings. They sell these ‘leads’, which are nothing more than names and numbers picked from the phonebook. Some of these people may even be on the Do Not Call list, which could land you in hot water.

Method #3: Harvesting leads from search engines. Often these leads are quality, but are expensive to capture, so the leads companies will sell the leads over and over. By the time you buy the lead, it could have been sold twenty times. Sometimes you’re the first to buy and you will find some quality prospects, more often you’re not.

Method #4: Internet robots crawl web sites hunting for e-mail addresses associated with insurance and annuity content. Somebody might be inquiring about annuities on a newsgroup or forum, next thing they know they’re getting offers from annuity companies. The Annuity Lead companies don’t let you in on how they’ve harvested the leads. It’s called spam and you could get in serious trouble for contacting these people unsolicited.

My contact did say there are decent leads sites. She said to check their policy to see if they guarantee the leads. Keep in mind, just because they have a guarantee doesn’t mean you’ll get your money back if the leads fail to produce results. But often sites with some kind of guarantee are sites that harvest only quality leads and only sell them once.

If you’re still of the mind to try internet leads my advice is to try just a few. Don’t buy into a huge program that requires a minimum monthly or a large upfront purchase. Experiment a little with a cross-section of sites. Who knows, you may find one that’s legit that’ll help you make some money.
