The CEO of the company I am working for has asked me to contact companies in parallel industries to offer an affiliate program.The program does not cost anything and I am not selling anything, we are just trying to start mutually beneficial relationships which could lead to a different stream of revenue for the companies that sign on. I have made a few of these calls but can not get past the opening sentence because the person on the other end assumes I am selling something. My question is what should I say to let them know immediately that I am not selling anything and I just want to discuss an affiliate program if they are interested.
